Known for its revolving restaurant named “Top of the Riverfront,” the Millennium Hotel is a remarkable piece of St. Louis architecture history.
Located downtown on Fourth Street, the hotel was built in 1968 and had several names over the years including the Stouffer’s Riverfront Inn, the Regal Riverfront Hotel and the Clarion Hotel. It closed in 2014 and has just been sitting there ever since.
The St. Louis urban explorer behind the Krispy’s Adventures Facebook page went inside to document the decay. The pictures show the once-bustling hotel now crumbling and disintegrating, but, surprisingly, still with power. The lights are still on at the old Millennium hotel and they illuminate the empty space which makes the whole thing feel creepy and surreal.
