Jay-Z makes surprise appearance in final Paris Beyoncé concert.

Queen Bey has never made it a secret that Paris is a special place for her and her husband, and they’ve once again dazzled the City of Lights. During the Paris stop on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour, the superstar’s husband joined her onstage for part of the final Paris concert.

The Cowboy Carter tour has been dedicated to Beyoncé’s latest work, as well it should be! Cowboy Carter is the 2025 Grammy Award winner for both Best Contemporary Country Album and Album of the Year. While still flying high from receiving the validation her groundbreaking work in country music deserves, Beyoncé has been leaving it all on the stage at every single performance along the tour. Each one of the Cowboy Carter concerts has been fantastic, but her Paris performances were a little extra special.

Not only was the concert her last performance in what is clearly a favorite place for the music icon, but it was also the last stop on the overseas leg of her tour altogether. She performed for six nights in London, and then lit up Stade de France on June 19, 21, and 22. Queen Bey kept some surprises up her sleeve for the final night of her European tour, and the audience in Paris ate it up!

Paris holds a special place in Beyoncé’s heart, so it makes sense that she would save a few surprises for her Parisian concert attendees. What did Beyoncé save for her French audience? For starters, she debuted new choreography for “Drunk in Love” for her final Paris audience. Her husband, hip-hop legend Jay-Z, joined her onstage, and the pair performed some of their signature songs together, throwing it back to the early 2000s with “Crazy in Love.” Jay-Z also took a moment to perform solo on his wife’s stage, wowing the crowd with “N***as in Paris.”

Appropriate, given the setting, no?

Paris has long been a special place for the musical couple. In addition to appearing onstage together multiple times there, it’s where they became engaged in 2007, cementing Paris as their own personal City of Love. They later confirmed that their first child together, Blue Ivy, was conceived while they were in Paris. Blue Ivy also made her debut as a dancer in Paris during Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour, adding yet another layer of meaning to the city that has been such a special place for Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

The surprise of Jay-Z’s appearance and performance came on the heels of Beyoncé welcoming Miley Cyrus to the stage on night one of her Paris concerts. The pair performed “II Most Wanted” for the audience, who ate up every last note of their duet.

Cowboy Carter will now be returning to the States for the final leg of the tour, beginning with a triumphant return to her hometown of Houston, Texas. Beyoncé will be performing in a few other U.S. locations before wrapping up with a grand finale in Las Vegas.
